PSILOCYBE

BENEFITS

The psilocybe mushroom is a natural antidepressant and anxiolytic.

Taken in microdoses under a protocol, it combats stress, anxiety, and promotes concentration and creativity.

In higher doses, it is used for introspection and deep inner work.

Recommended (1-2 microdose capsules) to treat depression, anxiety, increase concentration and promote creativity.

For more info see the post: Microdosing Guide.

It is not a psychedelic dose.

Taken recreationally (3 microdose capsules) allows you to enjoy a party while reducing your alcohol consumption. No one will notice you took a microdose.

For more info see the post: Microdosing and Alcohol.

There are different types of microdosing that go beyond the psilocybe mushroom alone and provide additional benefits. For more info on psilocybe microdosing combined with other mushrooms, see the post: Types of Microdosing.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Take doses, macrodoses, megadoses or psilohuasca in a comfortable and safe place where you can take the time to relax and enjoy the experience without worries.

Mushrooms will have a better effect if you have not consumed food 6-8 hours before, and this will prevent you from experiencing nausea or vomiting.

The dosages mentioned are a reference point for the effects of dry mushroom capsules. 90% of mushrooms are water. If you collected fresh mushrooms, the dosages are different.

10g fresh mushrooms ≈ 1g of dry mushrooms

HOW IT WORKS

The psilocybe mushroom contains psilocybin, psilocin, norpsilocin, norbeocystin, and baeocystin.

Psilocin is the substance that provides most of the benefits and effects that are typically associated with this mushroom. The norpsilocin, norbeocystin, and baeocystin are other tryptamines present in psilocybe mushrooms and are also responsible for their beneficial effects, although there is still very little research compared to psilocybin and psilocin.

When you ingest a psilocybe mushroom, during digestion your body converts psilocybin into psilocin. To facilitate this process, it is always recommended to consume this mushroom on an empty stomach and, for high doses, fasting of 6-8 hours is recommended.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

It is not recommended to take more than 0.3g doses for people with epilepsy since the visuals generated by this fungus can trigger an epileptic episode.

It is also not recommended for people with schizophrenia or any psychotic condition.

FUN FACT

September 20th (9/20) is International Medicinal Mushroom Day.

Celebrating 9/20 was proposed by Nicholas Reville in 2015, following the renewed interest of the scientific community in the medicinal benefits of psilocybin.

The date was selected because it marks the peak of the mushroom season in several parts of the world.

The movement's aim is to help mushrooms permeate popular culture by assigning them a date and time to be appreciated.
